Just in case you don’t know, this is my partner Jed’s brilliant book about what it means to be vegan. The full title is Obligate Carnivore: Cats, Dogs & What it Really Means to be Vegan, but it’s about those topics and so much more. It’s greatly expanded from the first edition, and I think it will appeal to vegans and vegetarians, people who think vegans and vegetarians are nuts, and anyone interested in how to make their activism more effective. (Oh yeah, and it also addresses the same issues regarding vegan pets as the first edition.)

The book is written in the same smart, irreverent style as Liv Films’ videos. It’s virtually guaranteed to piss off at least as many people as it inspires. And, if that’s not the mark of a good book, I don’t know what is…

So, I’ve been researching agencies recently, and I just signed up for the trial membership to IMDB Pro… I’m already totally hooked!

The coolest thing? You can find out, at any given time, just exactly how famous you actually are! As in, it gives a numbered ranking!!! One practical application is that you can then look at the client list on an agency you’re interested in and see where you rank, as a rough estimate of whether or not they might be interested in someone at your level… And then there’s the just for fun applications, like looking up your friends (or enemies, not that I have any) or your favorite celebrities to see where they rate!

For example, I found out that I’m around the 40,000th most buzzed about actor on IMDB right now. In a way, that’s pretty awesome, since I was below a million about a year ago, but in another way it’s kinda depressing… That means that there are about 40,000 people who are more famous than me, and I’ve never heard of 39,000 of them!

Anyway, though, it’s soooo interesting! I must’ve spent 3 hours on there yesterday! It’s totally educational and I’d recommend that every actor at least sign up for the free trial and take a look…

You can, as another example, look up a prospective agency to see whether their clients appear to be booking work, and what sort of work. I looked up some agencies that I’d decided NOT to work with in the past, and, sure enough, I was right! None of their current clients are booking any work!

I’ll probably keep my subscription after the trial runs out… What’s one more over-priced subscription based acting resource?

Well, I would be telling you to look for me in the Thanksgiving episode of the FOX show ‘Til Death, if only they hadn’t just recently pulled it off the air… Ugh. I guess that’s just the way it goes in Hollywood…

I played a cute stewardess who’s butt Kenny (J.B. Smoove) checks out while he’s stranded in the airport with Vivica A. Fox, causing a rift in their flirtation. Yes, that’s right, the same two actors who played a brother and sister on Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm are playing love interests in this show (weird) - until I come between them, that is…

Anyway, the show’s not technically cancelled yet (at least from what I can tell), so maybe this episode will still resurface sometime…

By now you’ve probably heard about our DVD that’s coming out Dec. 9, but maybe you haven’t ordered your copy yet. I don’t know how they can afford to sell it that cheap, but that’s not your problem, is it? We have no way of knowing how long this price will last, but we assume it’s a limited time promotion, so don’t drag your feet.

Oh, and if that’s not appealing to you for some reason, it’s also now available at Best Buy for $14.99, so you can save a couple of bucks that way as well.

Of course, if you’re really cheap, there’s always Netflix, and it’ll be in Blockbuster soon as well.

I had a photo shoot today for Jiggy Skirts, a new line of running/athletic wear that features these really cute skirts (kind of like a tennis outfit, but sportier)! We shot in North Hollywood Park - running on the trails, playing tennis, and we even faked some golfing shots! I’ll post some photos as soon as I get them…
